Burmation
Please would someone describe burmation period, like length of time, eating habits, and when does it start for most Mali’s, I’m pretty sure Fatboy has one. But I have never heard the description or what must be done during this period or exactly what happens at this time. I know every year for 3 years now I worry myself to death over him and I know its only burmation. But I have never heard a proper description as of yet. Thank you RosieGirl

Burmation Ok, *brumation* is when they sleep for a long period of time, or get less active, the period of time just depends on the animal. What they do is slow down on eating or just not eating at all, they will sleep way more and just be really lazy, lol. Its not bad for them, its actually healthy and will help them live longer. I have 4 bearded dragons and my 3 didnt go through it, and so i forced into it because i wanted to do that before i breed them, because it will help them be more interested in breeding and the sperm count will be higher so thats why i do it. BUT anyways, i dont know much about it with Mali’s since i just got my 1st about a week ago but i would think its like what beardies do.Steven

Burmation
Thank you Steven I see Fatboy go through a period of slowing down and not eating much and I worry myself silly, I believe he is going thru it right now. Yesterday he barely moved from his sleeping spot out into the open, just enough to get some warmth, he kept looking at me but didn’t move much, seemed real sleepy. I always worry since I lost my Iggy, I mother my pets terribly, I bet if they could talk they would tell me to knock it off. Thank you for the info, I appreciate the help. I’m sure you are right. Burmation If it has not eaten in a month it most likely has some health problems, maybe dehydration. I suggest starting a new thread and ask for Urofans advice. She is extremely extremely knowledgable.

Get your Uro to a vet, before it is to late. Keep the temps the way they are, do you have a basking light and stone, UVB? I’m really concerned that your Uro is not eating, for a month this is not good at all, my Uro at least comes out and eats about every other day to two days and seems to be maintaining his weight. Please before it’s to late. Rosie
