Adding a new uro part 2 Hi Butters, yes the nigerian and saharan are the same Uromastyx. They are both considered a U. Geryi. If you can find a post a little bit back I started on mixxing Uro species you will get a better understanding of when and why or how to do it. I tried it because I was sent a Yellow Nigerian instead of a female Mali. Due to the size and attitude of mine we think it might be a male. My male Mali was very aggressive towards the Geryi and I ended up separating them, actually I split their cage in half giving them both after you figure in the elevated section and hide they both get a 23x42x24 cage. Uro_fan is the resident Geryi expert on breeding, but yes you can breed a yellow and red together. Just from my experience I would suggest getting a juvenile uro. around 6 inches or longer, they are hardier and yet have time to acclimate to you better than an adult will. My male Mali was 13 inches when I got him, nice for the most part but had an attitude at times, still does actually. My female on the other hand was about 81/2 inches when we got her, she is very loving and has never shown any aggressive attitude. Hope this might help a little, this next bit isn’t just for you but for everyone who is newer to the boards. This site is very helpful and even though you might not get an answer to your question it’s not because noone reads it or cares, but more of every other week or so I have read the same types of questions over and over and I have only been here since this summer. I suggest go into the archives and you will find A BUNCH of answers to almost any questions on basic Uromastyx husbandry, behavior, should I do this, do that type of questions. ALot of people just seem to get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I don’t mean don’t post, just trying to let some people know why their questions aren’t being answered very much. Trent
