As a few of you know I have been in contact with Scott from Digital aquatics . They have been working on a new model to expand their excellent line of products to now cover reptiles. I am currently running a version they offer called the Reefkeeper lite on my Uro enclosure. It’s functions are endless but the temp requirements are not up to par when it comes to reptiles. Their new version called the HerpKeeper should provide all the proper high temp settings we will need. He will be sending me a unit for beta testing in the next few weeks. These are awesome products at excellent prices !! I will update once I receive one and put it into use :)

Do you know if any more beta testers are needed? Would love to try this out.

More importantly, does it come with an option to fit a non-US socketed power strip or is this for US buyers only?

Rose, you would probably have to shoot them off an email to see if they have a non us version.

Blake,I’m sure he has a hundred people who would just love to be beta testers lined up lol !!
They should be available for purchase by mid January, I guarantee you it will be some of the best money you spend on your herps !!

It says quite clearly in Jb’s link - between 100 and 270 USD, depending on accessory pack.

Jb - I might well do that!

I purchased Ranco thermostats for all my enclosures. they work great. I like how you can switch between cooling and heating modes.

Missann, the good thing about these is there expandable. You can run just one main unit and expand up to 261 fully programmable outlets !!! Once you purchase the initial setup (99 bucks) you can then add other accessories to expand for all your cages.

Urokeeper, just one of the herpkeepers will control your lights, temps, aux heat,etc...

Currently I have their reefkeeper lite on my enclosure. It has 4 channels . One channel is running my fluorescent lights, one for my megaray, one for my extra heat emitter on the cool end thermostat controlled to keep it no lower then 74 degrees .

One 99 dollar unit controls everything except my megaray heat projector on the basking spot and with the updated herpkeeper it will control that also.

As it is now the temp limit is 90 degrees because they are designed for salt water aquariums . The new ones will be around 140 or so. I told him what we needed but I haven’t heard the final numbers yet.
The only other unit on the market right now that will do all of this combined is the Ecozone controller and it’s 500 bucks !

Hey Jbreddawg,

Any update on this product? Their website mentions a January 10, 2010 release, but there doesn’t seem to be any update beyond this. It seems it’s still not available. Are you running beta tests on the Herpkeeper, or the Reefkeeper?

This is the email I received from Scott just a couple of days ago .

Quote:

We got stalled by our plastics vendor for the AP1 enclosure, (humidity and temp.) We’ll be opening the HerpKeeper ($99.99 package,) up for pre-order this week. We have a few units going out this week, but the big shipments will start gong out end of the month!

I am currently using the reefkeeper lite and loving it but am waiting on a herpkeeper to start testing out.
