Sick Uro
Hi guys am looking for some help one of my female uros is sick any ideas on the cause I’ve put some pics on here. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/matty_harwood/000_0028.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/matty_harwood/000_0029.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/matty_harwood/000_0030.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/matty_harwood/000_0031.jpg Ok so have been keeping and breeding uros for about 5 years so I know what am doing this is from a pair that I got from somebody about a year ago and to be fair I only got her because I felt sorry for her, her leg was missing all of the scales and also both sides of her neck she was in a very poor state. So last year I didn’t Brumnate Her but did this year first time I’ve seen her since lowering the temps and she looks like this. Am going to get her to a vet but am struggling to find one near me that deals in reptiles, am bathing her in a tamodine bath each day and have changes her timing back to a full day, she still seems to eat very well and when there eating they get a very mixed and varied diet. Have any of you guys seen this before if so what is it and how was it resolved Thanks in advance Matt |

for that reason lol the bumps and were the scales have come off before i got her the scabs heres a pic of her with the male not so long back.

To be fair all the Uros I got of the guy were in poor condition all have recovered but this little lady I thought she had, here is a picture of her when i got her

Thats just what you actually see. If one is scaring the other then there is sure to be some intimation that your not seeing. |

Sahells Mom Firstly kindly note the date of the photo which was taken at the start of 09, she has been separated from him for quite some time actually and if you look at the picture of her with the male and the picture when I first got her she was in a 100% better condition. Secondly I have 2 other breeding pairs of uros which are housed as pairs in 4x2x2 Viveriums with lots of different hides for them to go in if need be. My ocilatta breed three times a year and are very health animals, the other Orange pair of Moroccans live together and are also very healthy however the female at some stage has been burned like I said they were in poor condition when I first go them and they had improved 100%. Personally I think people like you are morons if you do not have something nice to say or some meaningful advice you need to keep it shut!!! I was asking if anybody had seen anything like this before as the vets are all closed here until the new year, happily not everybody is as sad and pathetic as you so seem to be if you cant help people you really must have a very unhappy life. Having emailed the Very Professional and helpful people at Deer Fern Farms they have give me some advice and I am now putting this into practice until I can get her to the vet. Just so as you know they did it out of the goodness of there hearts as I am in the UK there is no way they will make money from me and they did it without making backward judgments unlike yourself. Uros can be kept together as long as they have plenty of different hides and a large VIV obviously you have to watch for aggressiveness which there was none and she eats like a horse if anything the male was actually intimidated by her!!! |

A pic of her about a month or so after I got her, she had put on some weight, I dont have any of her when I first got her but the guy was a bearded dragon breeder and I ended up getting her for £50 instead of £150 becuase she was in such a poor condition and even then I only got her because I new I could give her a better life than she had

No both of these pairs are Moroccan Uromastyx (U. acanthinuris) My other pair are Sudanese Uromastyx (U. ocellata ) will try to get a pic of them if they come out at all regards matt |

here is some updated pics of my sick little girl looking 100% better even starting to grow new scales were there was none before, she went to the vets and had some antibiotics and antibiotic cream not sure if this helped as the vet said she had never seen anything like it before. Am a happy camper hopefully she will continue to improve. shes going to stay in the homemade hospital viv for the coming months.
