Ok I was wondering why prudence wasn’t coming out for the last two days. It turns out someone turned off prudence heat..My daughter had a birthday party and about seventeen kids slept over. She came out today and was just laying by her rock,and was all black...... I’m so mad right now nothing better happen to her ........Michele

She has her color back now and is running around like usual.... She went back to sleep at 9pm. I’m so glad I found out before it was to late. I told my daughter noone is to touch the tank ever again .....She is not have many sleepovers anymore either ......Michele

If shes acting normal again now i wouldnt worry to much. Uros are quite hardy lizards, and you have been looking after her well up to this incident so i wouldnt worry about it. A ban on sleepovers would be in order though LOL

Since all my lights and things are controlled centrally via a multi-socket electrical timer, and the socket where the timer plugs into the wall is behind a load of stuff and virtually inaccessible, all I have to do is put a lock on the glass doors and put my timer into a lockable box with holes for the cables, and it’s completely tamper-proof. I may have to do this in the future once my own child starts to get older (it’s not born yet, due in the middle of March) but I hardily recommend this or a similar approach to anybody with children. Even if you trust your own children, you can’t always be sure their friends will behave appropriately.
That said, these lizards are often cooled down and kept without lights and heat for many days at a time during transportation, so although they won’t be at their most cheerful, they can weather it out well enough. It’s not recommended but it’s perfectly survivable with no irreperable effects - so as Obi Carl says above, if she’s back to normal, then just get her routine re-established and life will go on.

Ok today prudence is really back to normal she licked my daughters hand....I gave her her salad today with extra Squash and she was a happy camper..... She loves her butternut squash
