If you use an MVB, do you include the tube UVB?

I currently have perfect temps with a basking bulb + ceramic heat emitter on low for the hot end (100F ambient, 125-130F basking), and a Zoo-med Reptisun 10.0 on the cool end (80-85F ambient) for UVB and extra light.

I was wondering for future reference, if I decided to try an MVB when my basking bulb dies, do I then remove the tube UVB light on the other side? Or can I still use it for extra light and UVB coverage for the rest of the tank not under the MVB. I have a 40 gallon right now.

I just want to try MVBs at some point cause I heard such great things about them.

Thanks!

MVB on basking spot, UVB long strip bulb along the whole tank.

Cool thanks! It won’t be too much UV right? If not, I’ll definitely do that.

Honestly, I would only use one uvb source in a smaller enclosure. This will allow the uro to better photoregulate.

Hmm, so should I stick with my reptisun 10.0 tube then? And if I ever went MVB, just replace the tube with one low wattage incandescent bulb for light?

I’m surprised no one went off on him for using a 40 gallon, and not the 4x2x2 tank.

If that is the case (I don’t see where that was mentioned) then yes, a larger enclosure would be necessary. My above comment would be referring to a 4x2 enclosure, which is still on the smaller side, even for a smaller species like philbyi.
