Skin infection/tumor? So i got a uro from a friend about a week ago. They were feeding him bird seed, habiscus, and lettuce. No lighting. And the substrate was like a mulchy . Im feeding him turnip greens, straw berrys, carrots, green peppers, and kale. Not all at once but sometimes i make him/her a sallad. Some days his bright yellow then the next hes ugly and brown and down. I changed his substrate to shredded paper and he LOVESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS it. Hes temp is at 100 in a what i belive is a 20 gallon tank. Hes 10 inches big. But yesterday as i was holding him (hes finally getting used t human interactions) i wanted to sex it. And as i flipped him on his belly i notice one side of his stomach wasnt flappy skin like the other. It was like a hard ball of skin but the scales look normal but not as good as the other side. Hes very active and loves to run around his cage and find was out (there are none). Im not sure if he poops cause i havent seen much, only once actually, but he does eat. What could be wrong, if theres anything wrong at all. And sorry for misspelling if there is any, im on my iPad.

Skin infection/tumor? The first thing you need to address Is the enclosure size the one you are currently using is far too small as these animals need a temperature gradient of around 100 in the warm end and 85 in the cool end-( farenheight ) Otherwise the Uro will not be ableto thermoregulate properly. The smallest enclosure size you can achieve this in is a 4 by 2 by 2 which is around 60 gal. The lump on his side is most likely a callous of dead skin but it is definitely worth taking to a vet as you can never be sure but make sure it’s a reptile specialist vet and preferably one with Uro experience. If you want it sexed you should get up some good vent and full body piccs-( preferable when fired
Up) and I’m sure we’ll be able to give you a good idea of what species and sex it is
Food wise if you
Look on some of the posts in your other thread I’m sure you’ll find better items to feed.
moreover if you ever need some help on your husbandry the most reliable source you will find is urowiki as most other caresheets were detailed and up to date when written but have not since been updated as our knowledge of the sp increases where as urowiki is being constantly updAted to avoid this problem as well as this it covers far move areas of husbandry and in far more detail so is definitely worth checking out and reading through
One more thing the colour change you have described is fairly normal in uro’s and certain other lizards such as crested geckos and is effected by their mood as when they are active and warm they fire up
And show their true colouration but when cool and/or lethargic they tend to become a much drabber far duller colouration

Skin infection/tumor? 1) Your diet choices could be better--this should be changed immediately.
2) Your substrate choice is poor. You should avoid using shredded paper.
3) Your enclosure is too small. The minimum tank/enclosure size is 2x4 (depth x width) with the height depending on what type of lighting you’re using.
4) Assuming your temp reading is correct 100*f is too low for basking. Again, these animals require a thermal/temperature gradient in order to thermoregulate properly. Having the animal in such a small tank will directly affect the ability to easily provide a temp gradient.
In order for anyone to help you further you need to provide a lot more information. In your first thread I advised you to copy and paste the questions from the "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING’ thread into your thread and answer them in the order they were written. Doing so will help tremendously. Failing to do so will only prolong receiving helpful, possibly life saving advice.

Skin infection/tumor? Vers, 100 is not to low cause everyone and every website says 100-130. And if it was too low he wouldnt be as active as he is. And his colors wouldnt get so bright if it was to low. The substrate is perfectly fine, he likes it better than anything else if put in his cage but i am switching to excavator soon.

Skin infection/tumor? Look vers is right, 100 should be the AMBIENT temp in the warm side and 85 in the cool side so that the animal can thermoregulate. and roughly 115 to 135 basking temp and the basking spot should be some sort of slate or rock generally slightly raised so that it absorbs heat well and if you don’t believe us then ask on any forum king snake RFUK and I variances even the people who know nothing about uro’s will give you the same temps, also give me the names of some of those caresheets and let me see how all the caresheets in the world say this...

Skin infection/tumor? Yeah of course theres a rock under the light, i had an iguana before cause my mom had it since she was 22 and shes 40 now and it died about 3 years ago. Im not retarded when it comes to reptiles, its just this uro is sooo delicate. My friends is so friendly and loves attention, this one stresses out from any little thing. Today was the first day he calmly let me handle him, didnt try to run, and when i was petti him he fell asleep on me(: Im feeding him today apples, strawberrys, carrots, zuccini and ima throw in green bell peppers. The tempt today 110 cause i lowered the light.
