 Going On Vacation, Please Read =)

Hey Everyone ( Again!)

So i will be going on vacation for about 5 days ( i say vacation my sister is getting surgery and i have to be with her), my issue that is arising it my uros need to be fed everyday... So i cant exactly leave them without food for that long, do you guys have any ideas on what i can do?

I have asked around and no one has time or hates all reptiles ( i am trying to find someone to feed all my herps) let me know.

it should be fine lizards can go for months without food. they store fat in their tail so if its healthy it onistly should be fine. acually what you could do is if you or someone you know has a prickly pear cactus pads. because they can last a while without dehydrating all the water. just place it on the cool side or you could place a small bowl of bird seed in their just to have something to eat

I know they have the fat storage.... but mine i rescued a couple of months ago now and they are still gaining weight as they were severely underweight so my concern is how the days will effect them.

How long are you going to be away for? Personally, I’d never leave my animals without food for an extended period of time...a couple days at the most. While they can go weeks/months without substantial food intake this is not something you want to practice in captivity--it can cause high stress levels which can lead to more serious issues, especially for recovering animals.

I would continue to ask around...that’s about the only thing I can think of.

Ya pretty much what i thought =/, ya it is either going ot be 5 days or 9 either way waaaay to long, i stress when its one day never mind that long!

My next step is the lady here who owns a hair salon... all her herps are there she is the only person i know who has herps here so i will talk to her today, hopefully she will do it and wont charge me an arm and leg to do so!
