Re: Meet smurf my uro
I had one that looked just like that. It died many years ago though. You really do have all the cool lizards. PE

Re: Re: Re: Meet smurf my uro
My only thought there might not be doable, I know nothing about costs or practicality here. What about greenhouse glass (the kind that allows UV rays to pass through) for the winter, set into storm door or window panels so that they can be removed and heavy screening or PVC coated hardware cloth placed there instead for the hot months. The UV and greenhouse effect would help with heating during the cold months but I’m sure you’d still have to have supplemental heating. I wonder what a google search on greenhouse building plans might show?

Those people are ripoffs, they dont take care of the animals at all. What I think you should do is take him/her to a vet and feed it maggets as a treat, and ’Spring Mix’ as food, and it will be looking better.

I think yellermelon is better off with the collards and other dark leafy greens he uses than spring mix, which is just assorted fancy lettuces. All lettuce, whether a gourmet variety or just plain iceburg, is roughly 95% water and 2-3% fiber, leaving almost no room for nutrition. Spring mix isn’t a bad thing to feed when you need to add moisture to keep an animal hydrated but it does nothing to increase the nutrient reserves of a uro in bad shape.
