Well i have never owned a hot but the first hot i ever delt with was a northern pacific rattlesnake. I found him in a friends yard. he did want it in his yard so i captured it and relocated it.

Mine was a southern copperhead. It was the first snake I was taught to handle, and the first I kept in captivity. It was one of the nicest and easiest snakes I’ve ever kept.....absolutely beautiful.
It’ll be the first snake I purchase....along with some bothriechis and bothrops, when the new permits come out.

by snakekids logic mine would be heterodon but my first medically significant venomous snake was a beautiful popes tree viper she was gorgeous had metallic blue eyes very calm animal well
