 Ottoman breeding in August. / for TJP, Jparker, Chance

My Ottamans have been breeding like crazy the last couple of days and I think their normal season is from late March through June. What do you think of that and do you think it’s possible for the female to take and give me a brood?

i guess its possible for her to still have them late but i would think the chances are lower. good luck tho keep us updated

Jeff, I know very little about that species, so I’m not really going to be of any help. The only thing that comes to mind is the difference in cycles or stress that may have them breeding at a later time. Hopefully, the ova will take and you won’t have fertility issues. Just cause he’s horny doesn’t mean she’s ready. The only advice I could give would be to mimic the snakes climate right to a tee during their normal mating/conception/breeding time. Good luck, and sorry I’m no help.
To be honest, I can’t even direct you to anyone working with the species. You may want to try the breeder you purchased them from.

Thanks guys; I was reading some data and it said the female will sometimes breed late and carry over to spring holding the males junk inside until then. Pretty cool stuff though....
