Expert advice/fruits for chinese water dragon

Hi everybody:)

I have a chinese water dragon which is 6 monthes old and I want to know if he’s old enough to eat fruits (I am thinking of trying with oranges).

As I have always heard that juveniles mainly eat insects, I am not sure that at 6 monthes their stomac is mature enought for fruits and vegetables.

If there is any risk, and if it is more secure to wait until it’s 1 year old, please tell me.

Thanks in advance,

See you,

Cyril.

Scarred73,
Cyrille requested EXPERT advice. You asked on a post directly before this how to sex the dragon that you’ve owned for more than FOUR years. That does not sound like EXPERT rating to me. In addition, NONE of those questions have ANYTHING to do with Cyrille’s question about feeding fruit. Please do NOT try to give advice that you are NOT qualified to give. This is how your reply should have sounded:

Cyrille,
I can’t help because I don’t have a water dragon, but I suggest that you post the same question on the very active "Water Dragons" forum. This forum seems kinda dead.

Good luck Cyrille,
D

You can give fruit at any time. Really doesn’t matter, but I would stay away from oranges. They are too acidic. Greens like collard and mustards are better to offer and then offer just a small amount of fruit, such as bananas, and fig. Those are much better choices.

Also most dragons won’t eat greens or fruit anyways. They like food that movs. :)
