They are over 4 years old and they haven’t mated yet? Are you sure you have a male and a female? They start to breed at about 2 years of age. They will do the breeding part on their own. You really don’t need to do anything. Sometimes they do need a "hibernation period" where you keep it a tad bit cooler and have the lights only on for about 9-10 hours a day in the winter months. Then you slowly bring the temps and the lighting period up during late winter/spring. But otherwise, they do the whole ’mating’ thing themselves. I’m surprised they haven’t done anything yet, espeically if they have been living together for 4 years.

Has your female laid any eggs yet?? Females lay eggs no matter what, even if they haven’t mated. I’m still at a loss if you say you’ve had them together for 4 years and they haven’t mated. If they mated you would know. The male will a lot of the times hurt the females crest because he bites it. You wouldn’t even have to look below their tail for the bumps at that age, you should clearly be able to tell just by looking at them. Males have huge crest and heads and have large spikes all the way down their body and females are much smaller and do not have the large crest and spikes.
