There is someone on this forum who uses a warm mist humidifier- I however use a cool mist one, which with a 150-watt ceramic bulb on a thermostat keeps the temps ok.

How hot does the mist het with a hot one? I would hope it wouldn’t be too hot!

I have a warm mist humidifyer...... Damien does really good with it and he dosn’t get to hot with it... on the other hand it can get pretty hot in my room .You have to keep the doors shut cause the hot heat will fly right out and the humidity will drop rather quick. I block off all the air ducts in Damiens room since we have central air I just throw a blanket over it.

How hot ...did you ever take a temp reading at the point where the humidity comes out. Imagine if it were traveling up /or thru some sprinkler 3/4 pvc...and coming out about 3 ft. into a retail store display case ...

Sounds like you are doing a spare bedroom as the area for your critter. Is that right?

The humidifier you want is an ultrasonic one. (The reason we don’t use the warm mist ones is that bacteria and mold tend to grow in it.) You can find them on Ebay, WalMart and possibly WalGreens.

I definitely would. If it is not too old and you still have the box, maybe you could take it back? The ultrasonic one that folks were using a couple of years ago was from WalGreens. I got mine off Ebay. I checked WalGreens the other day and did not see an ultrasonic one with the nice round opening that is so easy to change out. However, Pocochu recently got one from Walmart that is similiar to mine, Reli-On brand. I still have to clean mine out thoroughly about every 6-9 months to remove slime build-up.

I took Damiens thermostat and put is in the place on my humidifyer where the steam comes out and the thermostat deetered in temp readings 80.9f 90f.... with it deetering like that it’s hard to tell the exact temp but I got to thinking I have put my hand up there alot just tomake sure it was comming out and it burns mine .... I wouldn’t put one it a Wd viv cause they like to jump around and if they jumped on the spo where the steam comes out they might get burned.

My husband is alos gettin damien 80watt basking lamp tonigh so im quite excited to see where this leadss :)
