  Humidifiers /Pocochu / anyone

Ok so Pocochu has one. Does anyboby else ?

What do you use to get humidity in your setup?

Currently I use a Hudson sprayer 2x a day at least ( such a pain )

I really like the idea of a humidifier on a timer. Plumbed up and converted to the enclosure.

And Poco you have the ulta sonic model ...whats the difference between that and the cool mist and warm (heated) unit.

I see they are at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club

How did you plumb it for the set up.

Thx for any input.

i use a humidifier that i got from walmart in my cage. it keeps the humidity at a constant 80%.

the ultra sonic humidifier’s blow out smoke (steam, fog, i’m not really sure what it is ) and the cool + warm mist don’t. That’s the only difference i know about but there’s probably another one.

a humidifier is defiantly a good investment, you don’t have to keep spraying it all the time!

Really either one will work, they just work in slightly different ways.

Read this Link and it’ll explain the differences and you can decide what’s right for you.

I have a warm mist humidifier that I use in the apartment in the winter when it’s really dry and it seems to work fine, you can see the warm steam coming from the top.

I think the warm mist ones are a little cheaper too, though I could be mistaken.

For my reptile humidity I have a big pump sprayer that I picked up from Rona for around $16...makes it easy to go around and get all my different lizards. Incidentally my herp room maintains a fairly constant humidity just under 70%

Ok , first off I dont have a big enough enclosure to put the whole thing in ....Yet!

My idea was too attach some pvc or abs pipe to it like Pocochu did.

But I went to 2 Walmarts and found the Relion cool mist and warm mist and some others.

None of them looked condusive to just sticking a round pipe on it or in it. ( Oval and curved )...They changed the syle maybe.

The models I saw having the same name were different packaging newer styleThan the picture Pocochu posted.

Now I have never even looked at one ...ever! So i don’t even know where the damn mist comes out of ....lol.

It appeared to come out of some side vents on the lower curved body of the unit where the fan spins. The one on display was very easy to disassemble as if to clean it.

But I still don’t understand how to convert it to a form... that will accept an air/mist tight fitting made of home depot plumbing / irrigation parts. You must please post some pics so i can see whats goin on.

Anyone else got a different set up ?

TY all

OCD is kickin in .....lol

Pocochu got back to me with photos of her setup ...It is a specific unit that has a perfect round exhaust .
That adapts nicely to the appropriate ABS / pvc pipe to enter in to the enclosure.

The manufacturer changed exhaust style to an oval...kinda like some cars headlight.

What were they thinkin ....lol

Any way I am sure I will find one somewhere.

Thx again.
