Well Im not sure if you remember but the thread about his poor tail.... Well now.... he dropped the damaged part. It was crooked, bent little sores, and not doing good... well I went to check on him and he was brown and stressed, laying with his head down and just NOT happy, I checked humidity -good I checked temps- Good.... clean water, heat lamp uv everything was on... all working good... Then I noticed.... his poor little tail!! He lost max 3 inches more likely only 2 though... Haven’t seen the rest of the tail... still need to tear apart the enclosure and find if it got stuck on somethign or what happened.... Dont have any neosporin.... the only kind i have has pain reliever in it... ugh... what else kind of house hold items can I use? Im going to clean everything out again and make sure everything is pefectly clean... right now he is in the living room watching tv laying on a heat pad wrapped in towels... he is much more green then he was 10 minutes ago... I feel better about that... I did feed him and he ate one crick but that was it... What else can I do??? Its not really red or anything at the end because he only lost a lil bit.... but it is red and icky... Any ideas or thoughts??? Thanks everyone... pics in a bit... |

your local vet my have some better ideas, free of charge if you call or e-mail. Yes I remember the pics and all. Sorry to hear that Yex. I was on Tricia’s site looking for stuff related to this and I found this " The dragon might have an injured area (snout comes to mind for some reason) that might now be infected- if it is infected the infection might become systemic, if it does, or has, then your dragon may experience appetite loss, become lethargic, his colour might change as well ie brown... If you think the dragon has an infection, or if he hasn’t eaten for close to a week then you should definitely take him to a reptile vet ASAP. " Hope it doesn’t come to that extreme. I am going to seach some more stuff about ointments , etc. |

Angus is much more green now and active, he ate a bit more and is doing better, the part of his tail that dropped and is now red is only as large around as maybe wooden match. Its not bad and looks ok, I think with some antibiotic ointment it should be fine, I am keeping the enclosure really clean to help prevent infection. I did find his tail it was wedged between 2 rocks... UGH so they are now removed :| But it was 2.5 inches loss.... :(:(:( Here he is: (His heat pad w/ towels on top of his favorite stuffed turtle)
tip:
Oh and my leopard gecko tail loss...
as you see much larger in the leo pic and I didnt need to use anything for it... but Im keeping an eye on it and probably getting some antibiotic ointment... ugh im tired of typing that... |
