 Need help with humitidy..

Pink’s under scales and tale are really, really dry and scally feeling. Rough too...

I mist his whole cage at least 2 times a day. I mist for about two whole minuttes...
Still no change... :( Right now he is shedding too, which makes it worse...

What can I do? I don’t have the time and money to go and buy a humidifirer....

Should I mist his cage longer and like 5 times a day? What??

Right now he has teo lights in his cage....

Emma

If it’s screen top cover a little over half with a damp towel or something and mist a pit more often should bump up if you do.

Flicker, Pink’s cage is a custom build cage. My dad built it.. It stands 6 ft tall, 3 ft deep, and is 4.8 ft long... It’s made out of wood and has glass doors. Are you crazy.. :P

What section in Walt mart do I go to to find humidifiers? How much did yours cost Pocochu? How do you "instal" it?
Is it timed, ect...?

Thanks everyone!!

P.S. Pink’s under scales are really really dried out. Well that is what it seems when you hold him or touch him... I know it must hurt....

When I get the humidifirer, will that clear up his scally skin?

Oh, and, does nayone have a list of plants and pics of the plants that are safe for a chinese water dragon to have in their cage?

Thanks again!!

Alot of people put screening on the top for extra ventalation so the smart egghead comment wasn’t called for I was asking and giving simple advice, as for the dry skin there are many of helpful ideas which people have stated over and over and over again to help that out if you took the time to read. MINERAL OIL and stuff like that really helps .......sorry for being snippy but I hate when kids are rude, I wouldn’t take it from one of my own let alone someone else’s, and as for humidifiers they are not installed they sit in your dragons home, they cost no more then $30.

POCOCHU helped me out immensely on this subject ...Wal mart/target/and just about any pharmacy have these humidifiers. In the pharmacy section.Just ask the sales people.

Wally world I think was the cheapest but depending on the model I was looking for, target was next in line ....So check it out ...you can’t go wrong for this price range and if you want to bump it up a notch you can spend 25-35.00 on units that hold more water and require less refilling. With a viv as big as yours even warm mist might be just fine ...but they require more cleaning so they don’t grow mold and fungus in the unit itself.
Link

If you need an immediate remedy ...say for the next 48-72 hours get towels and get them all wet / damp with warm water and tack them up in the viv...I have used hand towels and microwaved them until steamy .....works great....hang em on velcro or small nails...thumbtacks.

I am sorry if I sounded rude or mouthy. I was not trying to be. Sorry, I guess I worded it wrong. Very sorry... :)

Do I put Mineral Oil on him or do I get him to drink it?

Mrs. Froggy- You rub the mineral/olive oil into their skin. And not a lot by any means. 2-3 drops is sufficient, just work it in. Definitely don’t make or let them drink it.

Correct if I’m wrong, but as long as I remember, Pink’s viv was built using an older wardrobe. If so, you may try hanging some king of wet towel, or a large rope soaked in water.

Buiatti, lol, no, Pink’s viv was not built from a old wardrobe... my dad built his cage from scratch! :)

Yeah, I put three hand towels up in his viv, and his shed is coming off nicely!
