 URATES.....

i know urates are a solid/formed white substance.... but, is it suppose to have liquid too?? lol soryy, i necer noticed before. he usually does his biz in the water....yesterday, he was a butt and did it outside of his viv on the floor!!! and it had the white solid stuff and a bunch of liquid (kinda yellowish) with it. i think hes drinking that much. ill have to spray him more, because hes back to his old ways of not drinking....

LOL i was kinda worried because he is staying in the bottom lately.....

also, when giving him a bath today, he did his usual biz. then i took him out and there was something (which i thought at first was shed...) sticking out of his vent!! i pulled on it a little to get it out and it seemed to be a hard peice of urates, maybe dried up that was stuck!!

is that weird or what!!!!!

Mama hydrate him more...even tho they are white but hard that means he needs more hydration....The whites should be soft and white sometimes runny that is good.....

yeah. i thought that was maybe it... im going down tomorrow and get some gatorade for him. maybe thats why his eyes were closed. couldnt get him to open them.... could be a little lethargic. i have been so busy lately. not a lot of time for the animals.

got to figure out how to get more time in these days!!!!!!

yellow urates is a sign of dehydration. in your case, its most likely minor.

dunno about the sperm plug, but if it was, that’s hysterical!!! you stay out of that vent!!!

Was it kinda rubbery, white/clear in colour and very stuck? If it was ... chances are ..... SPERM PLUG!

You do have to be careful you don’t damage your boy’s bits when you remove these. But it’s deciding what’s the lesser of 2 evils?

Leaving it there to stress your boy out?
Lizards can become agressive and not eat as much as it’s uncomfortable.
Or do you make them a little sore with a little bit of gentle tugging to remove the offending artical?

I guess it’s up to personal opinion? I would suggest if you get something thats REALLY stuck and wont budge without causing your WD serious discomfort - go see a vet.

The joys of having boys eh?

thats probly what it was....i was real careful, as i thought, whatever it was, it had to hurt a little being pulled on. but, then i had to be uncomfortable as well.....

Minya......i have real long hair as well...ive had to pull a peice out of his mouth before...just not out of his vent. thats the first time i had to pull anything out of his vent.

then thats why he was keeping his eyes closed! he was a little miffed!!! he better this morning though

hehe just saw this post. i have been off this site due to...well.......my computer! anywho, hes doing ok. he is such s little funny guy! i put him on the chair to feed him yesterday. i would throw the wormies down and he would watch them for a while (cause hes LAZY and has to think about it for an hour before pouncing). he finally jumped down and devoured them..all three earthworms at once! then he decided to look around a bit, so i picked him up and he just turned and looked at me really funny!! i swear he was going to say something!!! lol it was just so funny. he just kept looking at me... like, "what!"....sorry, it cracked me up...
