Now The bone that is sticking out will be cut off after she’s all healed.....

But I will have to correct you on your statement about the tissue rotting..Yes the tissue is drying out to form the scare tissue...but it is not rotting...if it were rotting it would be swollen & red and ozzing pus and the tissue would be sloughing off...and there are no signs of that happening at all.....The black you see is the tissue dying & drying out... Her leg looks to be healing the right way....I have been in constant contact with my vet and he agrees that this is the normal healing process.... Annie...>^..^< |

its not rotting? i know its drying out, but i guess your right it would be more active though i hate to say it, it just looks dead, but if the vet is saying its normal... poor poor little thing:( |

How well is she getting around? Well the elbow is a little stiff but the movement in the shoulder is really good..she has full range of motion in the joint..... Quote: ie gangrene- is not red and oozing pus, but is usually black and charcoal like. it’s called dry rot
It’s not dry rot....it’s just healthy dead tissue (if that makes any sense)...I know it may look bad from the photos but when you actually see it in person it looks really good....Charlie (my vet) is going to remove the dead tissue and cut off the exposed bone that is protruding out and stitch the tissue together to cover the end of the bone so she will have a stump.. |

i know from the iguana my friend has, with its tail black like that at the end, is completely normal. even though it may look bad. the iguana’s tail is starting to grow back, finally and without a vet. and ive seen a lot of cases where the tissue turns black, then heals up good. as long as you know what your doing, as Annie has had lots of experience in these matters, unfortunately, it should be fine. between her and her vet... great work. shes lucky to have you! and i agree with Chris on such a precious expression she has on her face :) talk to ya later. |

Charlie was amazed on good it looked..she’s got good blood flow to the tissue..it’s still nice and pink...He said I was doing a wonderful job taking care of it...NO sign of infection at all.... Here’s some pic I took tonight...some of the old tissue hasn’t come off yet but it’s loose...

Miggy is doing real good.....The puncture of the lung and abdominal cavity are all healed up..if they weren’t she’d be dead by now..and plus she not blowing bubble any more....LOL...poor little thing..I felt so bad for her I really thought I was going to lose her..because these guys are SO sensitive...but she’s my little trooper....I still have her in the hospital tank...I don’t want to move her just yet...I get her out and carry her around with me and I take her out side to get some UVB and she just loves it..Still doesn’t want to eat on her own...I have to help her a bit....she is eating thou...and pooping & peeing very well, all that works good......And yes the skin is starting to regenerate down the leg...but just how far it will go, don’t know ....but Charlie said it will form a new skin..not sure if it will have scales or not, it might...we will just have to wait and see....... Annie....>^..^< |
