I was on the phone with Annie and Simon had to go potty, he never left the yard before,,,He was hit by a car that never slowed, never stopped, I had to put my beloved to sleep. It hurts so bad. I will morn him forever

Thanks everyone, yeah I thought it was pretty crappy they didn’t stop after they hit him too. I have never hit a dog, I’ve ditched the car a couple of times to keep from hitting them. I just can’t understand how they can live with their self having done what they did. They stole a wonderful life that meant so much to our family.

I am so sorry for you loss! My mom has always told those that don’t care about animals don’t care about other humans as well. There are so many out there that do not understand that our animals are not just pets, they are a part of our families.

Geez Lela, I am wondering about the street you live on! First Lori, then Jessa (ok, I do realize it was a diff street) now Simon. You are having such rotten luck, almost like a modern day Jobe. Cloud, I know it seems like it at times. It feels like the world is on my shoulders, but you have to believe you can carry that load, it isn’t weighting you down, but helping to keep you grounded. There are times in life that it seems to pull you apart, but you always come back together if you work at it enough. Trying times are what make the sweet that much sweeter....I know that sounds all Polly Anna but that’s the only way I can keep going. Some times all that is happening hurts my heart so bad I just want to crawl in the bed and never come out. I just can’t do it. I can’t hide and make-believe all is great and wonderful, so the only thing left to do is get on with it.

Look at everything you have came through in your life and how you have still managed to do it with style and class and have a great life too. Your awesome Hope to talk with you soon!

Awwww, Lela, that is so nice of you to say that. I would call, but I am afraid that we would talk too long and I would not be doing all the "stuff" I need to be doing, lol! Yep, there’s been times. Times where I was a single mom, trying to work, and getting the dreaded call. "Please come, the paramedics are here and you need to pick up your daughter." From there it was pick up the other kids, pick up my daughter, farm out the others, then drive 4 hours to LA to the heart hospital for tests. Then, when they were over, around 3am, drink a Mountain Dew, drive back, pick up the other kids, try to regain my composure and go back to work w/o sleep. Oh ya, I know the routine well.

Ya, I remember breaking both of my legs (we won’t say how) not being allowed in a wheel chair before the surgery, and getting the call that my son had stopped breathing and was taken by the paramedics to a hospital. I insisted on being taken there (suppposedly I was in traction, lol, NOT) and stayed in this chair thing they gave me, clutching my son with his iv.l I wouldn’t drink, ’cause I might have to pee and there was NO WAY lol! Nice pair we were.

So many memories. I am not sure that it was a positive thing. I am not so sure why my kids are doing well. Surely it could have been easier? Don’t kids turn out well normally? Why are we put thru all these trials?

Right now I am carrying a load I am not speaking of. Don’t want to talk about it, altho that makes it that much more difficult.

I am so very sorry about Simon. I have hit a dog twice now - both times I spun the steering wheel and the dog actually hit me. Both times I looked back to make sure the dog made it. I would stop. I actually have stopped before when I thought a pet looked "kinda dead" before, not having anything to do with it except compassion. Not a fun thing, but someone has to do it.

I know your heart hurts, just hang in there. You are a wonderful lady; they broke the mold when they made you. Your time will come. RIP Simon.

Oh Lela I’m so sorry for your loss. People like that make me sick. Just a couple weeks ago I saw a lil chihuahua runnin around outside and went to try to help it find it’s way home before it got hit which was bound to happen since it would just stand in the middle of the street. The lil thing took off as soon as it saw me and then stopped in the street and a car hit it. Luckily it was ok and took off yelpin with a lil limp, but that driver never slowed or stopped or anything just kept going the 15 miles or so over the speedlimit she was going without a care in the world. Ooh it ticks me off.

I am so sorry for everything that life has thrown at you!! I haven’t been around much lately and must have missed what happened to Jessa, that or my memory is not working atm. I pray she and Lori are both doing well! You are a strong woman indeed and so are you Cloud!!! You are all in my prayers!

R.I.P. Simon, you will be forever missed.

Thank you Alisha, Jess is doing good now but she fractured her wrist and hurt her knee. On the same day (Rob had the kids) Rob went to the Mall of Ga. (huge place) and "lost" Jaden for about 45 minutes, let’s just say he has became a lot more understanding, and cast no blame any longer. I don’t think we need anymore reminders of how important our kids are to us.

OMG, what a day that was! I’m glad she is ok and Jaden was found fast. Man, that’s some scary stuff. I’m glad to hear it helped knock some understanding into Rob, I know how frustrating it is when they just don’t see how difficult it can be and pass along blame. Lol, one time my hubby said that staying home with 3 kids and keeping the house spotless was the easiest job in the world. Haha, then he stayed home for a while.

How is Lori? I think about her all the time and wonder how she is coming along?

Dani is doing good. It took her a while to get past being scared every time her tummy hurt and she’s a little mindful of her scar, but I’m trying to kick that out of her fast.

I’m glad to hear she is doing good. Lori is hanging in there. I’m on my way to her day school, we are doing an Oct. feast kinda thing. She still has no feeling in her legs and hasn’t gotten all her memories back but it’s almost been a year and she has come so far already that we aren’t yet trying to push for more. She still has, and most likely always will have health problems but we are working with that too. All in all she is wonderful. Thanks for asking. She loves that people ask about her.
