 My wd is breathing w his mouth open!

i noticed my wd breathing with his mouth open today.. do u think it means anything?? im worried its a Respitory Ifection.. :(
i just moved him to a new encloser about a month ago, and its been hard to keep it warm in there!!! and his uvb broke about 2 weeks ago and i havnt been able to get a new one!! is there anyway that could be a cause of anything??

Oh boy......What are his temps & humidity levels? and you REALLY need a uvb....

If he does have an RI you really need to get those temps up....change the bulb wattage to a higher one to get more heat...What’s the size of the viv?

yeah pet store lighting doesn’t cut it 4 dragons. go 2 home depot and get an industrial workshop light, almost identical looking too pet store lights but only like 20 bucks. They handle a much hight wattage, put a fatty reptile bulb 250 watt or more. In that and let there be heat!

hi sorry i havnt checked this for a couple of days, yah i got the temps up i put 2 lights 100w on instead of one!! an the vive is 4X4 ft and about 2-2 1/2 feet deep!! me n my boyfriend r workin on gettin the uvb light! we went to the store and they didnt hav ne!! i did hav one but my kid broke it!! i was lookin online n i think were gonna get one off of there! n thanks for the advice for home d.. i will deff. be visiting there!!

you may want to consider a mercury vapor bulb for your UVB. its design for as cage your size and it gives off heat too.

Hey everyone long time since I’ve talked to you all! I check in every once in awhile to see how you all are, but back to this question about the mouth being open, you might try misting yours daily mine used to like that a lot, your humidity levels might be down.

hey there again! haha yah i started to mist more often!! n i havent seen him with his mouth open anymore!! he also had a shedding problem were ther was a little peice stuck over his nose for awile! but after it fell off he didnt breath w his mouth open, so it could have been that too!

i will deff. try that light bulb then M! thanks alot for the info!! oh one more ? r the sprial uvb bulbs ok??
