 Pumpkin question...

LOL! a little off topic, but since it’s almost halloween and were carving pumkins, i wonderedif Mister Rexx could eat pumpkin. I wasn’t sure just thought he might be able too :) Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advanced :D

yes. i feed my dragons squash all of the time in the form of organic baby food. high protein diets, which is what our dragons require, are hard on the kidney’s. so, i give their bodies a break 1 weekend once or twice a month giving them the baby food for two days, but never longer than that.

make sure you steam or shred it fine enough for Mr. Rexx to eat. your bugs will enjoy it too!

pumpkin seeds are very good for YOU!! toast them in the oven with some sea salt.

And thanks for the reply Minya! I shredded it to look like worms and he didn’t hesitate when i offered them :)

haha! Yeah he sure did! I was shocked! The first peice he wasnt sure about but then he went for the the 2nd 3rd and 4th! I was so excited! xD Its great that i boosts his immunity im glad i can get him to eat it :)

Yes, you can feed pumpkin to your dragon. Actually, it is a very good thing to do once in a while. It will cause diareah (sp?) but that is a good thing. I first tried it on Orville when he swallowed the end of a q-tip, wanting him to pass it quickly. I found out that he had a lot of sand in his belly, which was expelled at that point. Most ppl don’t realize that all animals who ingest stuff like sand (anything hard broken down, you never know) that sand stays in the belly. In horses and ponies, who get bits of sand with the grass they eat, this is known as "sand belly."

Yes, Orville’s poops were sandy, much to my amazement. I learned a lesson from this. Pumpkin is an excellent to give a couple of times a year.
