Wont open eyes Having a hard time. Please help. Small water dragon. Started with shedding problems (not enough humidity) Now wont open his eyes. and his tail is very sensitive. when you hold him it twitches. Has not eaten in 4 days , but is taking water and a calcium supplement given by the herp vet. temps are normal but am still having some trouble regulating humidity. he spent the whole day in his water dish yesterday. Not sure what to do next. He needs to eat. can we give him the slurry on Melissa kaplans page. Just scared don’t want to loose him..

Wont open eyes Oh that poor baby...What kind of UVB light are you using?...The twitching could be the start of MBD...A slurry would be good if you could give it to him with out stressing him out too much....
What are his temps & humdity levels?
How big is your viv?
and what kind of lighting to you use?

Wont open eyes And, the twitching could be from too much calcium, just to add to the difficulty.
You really need to make sure his temps are 84-88 day and night for the moment. Make sure he is reallly hydrated, you can soak him in a gatorade and water mix, and try to locate a reptile rescue formula.

Wont open eyes are you using a compact fluorescent uvb light? the spiral type bulb that screws into normal light fixture? these cause lots of issues if not used properly. resulting in sun burn like skin damage, closed puffy eyes, stress, and they seemingly want to sleep all day and not move.
