Not the best substrata choice, i fear

i thought river rocks would be so pretty, so i bought 20 pounds of them, and they are! stewie’s pond is all nestled down in them, and they’re all in natural colors and they look so pretty around his little tiki hut... and then he poo’ed, and the urates ran through the rocks and onto the bottom of the tank and they were STINKY!!!--i thought iguana poo stank! and i had to move all the rocks and dry everything up and i’m peeved because i’m gonna have to change it and i don’t want to--what am i going to do with all these rocks?

rocks are not so good in the pond as you see. also, some dragons break their necks on the rocks when they dive into the pool.

they’re PEBBLES, little bitty round polished stones, like you find in a river bed, and they’re not in the pond. they’re not huge, jagged, neck-breaking boulders.

when i read "rocks" - i didn’t think pebbles.

pebbles are not good either. they can be ingested and cause huge internal problems.

UhOh!!! Stinky poop???? That almost always signigifies a parasite infectection! You will need to call your local vet and ask about fecal tests for parasites. Then bring in a sample, less than 24 hours old, non-refridergerated.

river rock could work if you set it up like a fish tank. you use racks on the bottom and have a filter that sucks water from the bottom thus filtering anything that passes threw. but other then using that method i dont recommend using anything in the water. poop does stink but really bad stinking poop means some internal problems.
