Hi, i just wanted to say, first of all, that this is a wonderful and very informative site. If i wasnt already a research person and spent hours looking at hundreds of sites, this is the place where i could learn everything in one fell swoop.

I have a few questions that i would love anyones opinion on, so i guess i should give some background info.
My boyfriend is the "head of the fish department" at our local "mom&pop-style" Pet store. Someone donated a water dragon to them, and he thought, "its got no place to go" so we took it in. He read up on care sheets on what to feed it, lighting, etc. All the basics. Im a stay-at-home-preggo and was very bored, so, being the research person i am, i checked out its tame and handible and behavior and so on. Lets just say, i fell in love with my little Gonzo. Now, i’ve decided this is my calling and i absolutely pick CWD over any animal. I got two more little babies (in a seperate enclosure of course) and would like to know guesstimate ages and genders. So correct me if my guesstimates are off or if you have any opinions

*Gonzo (22 ins head-tail), is way smaller than the average 3 yr olds i usually see (so i’d say about a year old.) She/he has orange, peach and teal on her/his neck and no distinct crest. But Gonzo looks more feminine next to Puff.

*Peenut (11 ins h-t), we got about a month ago. Shes very small and has hardly any peach under her chin. I know you can’t tell the sexuality untill about 2 yrs, but beside our newest, Puff, Peenut seems to lean toward a female. We got her from PetCo. She absolutely freaks out anytime she sees Gonzo (maybe a female thing?)

*Puff(12 ins h-t), we got last week. Hes a bit more aggressive towards me than the others (probably b/c hes a wild specimen, not captive-bred). He has a brillant red under his neck. Hes shaped differently than the others and puffs out his gullet any time he sees me.

Here’s some group pictures (:

Enjoy and thanks for any help!

thanks ive read quite a bit of sexing info, but to me, i just cant tell very well. I will take a picture of all their femoral pores(?) and hopefully someone will help me at least feel a little better about saying "he" or "she". When i talk to my fiance about what all me and Gonzo did today, i will start the sentence with a ’he’ and end up saying ’she’, etc.

any idea or opinion will help.
But be easy on me guys, im new and still learning.

Oh and by sizes, could anyone tell me the round ages?

I’m new too and still learning, but I love the pic with the three of them. Don’t you just feel like you stepped into an Anne McCaffrey novel and impressed fire lizards???? That’s what the pic reminds me of, anyway. LOL

Gawd, ive just fell in love with them so far! they are all very sweet and adorable to boot. I love to take them in the bathroom (the only place w/o small crevices and furniture) and give them each a bath, (give them warm towels from the dryer) and let them play around. Tho i keep a close eye on my year old Gonzo. My lil bright green one peenut flips when their eyes meet so i usually hold Gonzo.

I feel like i found something that makes me veryyyy happy!
