Fighting Hey, I think that my two Aussie dragons are fighting, there both the same size, and age, and there both from the same clutch. The fighting started yesterday, but it was nothing vicious, just head butting to he side but not hard, and puffed out throts, and head bobing, and arm waving. So i think they are just playing around, and today they were chasing each other around the viv, head bobbing and arm waving.Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Fighting If they are both males they should not have been together in the first place. If it’s a male and a female I would still seperate them because it will cause the female major stress. If you want to have babies leave them together until they breed, then seperate him from the female.

Fighting Yes they are both males, they have lived together all of their lives, and this has been the first instince of fighting. They havnt fought, or anything like that at all today, so it might have been they were just playing. There was no blood shed, or even any pain in either dragons at all. They both are in the process of shedding, which they havnt done for a few months, so could this be why they were "fighting?"

Fighting Whether or not it’s continual or that they have lived their whole lives together they will fight. They will cause injuries. Even in clutch-mates males will fight when they start to reach maturity. In the wild where they can bully their way into having their own territory, they chase off the competitor, in a tank...well there isn’t room to chase off...I’ll leave it at that.

Fighting Well i have come to the conclusion that they were fighting over their food, since both times they fought it was up on the shelf next to the food dish, and it always ended with one of them being pushed off the shelf and the other going to eat from the dish. So i thought i might be able to solve the problem by putting in another food dish, and im going to put in another shelf this weekend, and sometime when i have the money i will put in another uva/uvb light above the new shelf.

Fighting Nothing that i tried really worked, i put in two food dishes, and they just ate all the food, and still fought the other day.The strange thing is, is that they only fight about 15 minutes before their heat lamp turns on, and there always fighting on the shelf, right under where the light is. They didnt fight at all yesterday or today, but im sure that it will happen again. Is there anything I can do, besides seprating them, because sepreation is not an option.

Fighting Besides offering two or more basking areas and more hides there isn’t much, however this is just a temporary solution, and it may not even work. Seperation is the only real way to stop the fighting. I’ve heard that two males can live together "peacefully" in a room sized enclosure, however that’s more than most of us can offer and it would easier to just build a new viv.
