 Smelly Floor and cleaning water

at the moment jollop is on wood chips as a flooring but it really stinks when it gets wet! it also goes moldy under his water pool and i have to keep changing it all the time and even tho its only £2 a bag its costing loadz coz im having to buy so many bags!! is there another flooring that would be better? he has had snad and i didnt like that so is there anything else? and another thing. atm jollop has a water pool which i can take out and clean but im hoping to change his cage so the hole of the bottom is water and make another leavle so thats his living bit but how would i clean the water out? it will have a pump n that but i have seen alot of tanks and viv with built in water pools or fixed in there tanks somehow so if u could tell me how u clean it out and wen thats b gr8...thanx alot xx saf xx

if you just get a filter, and make sure that it works, and just clean the spounges in the filter every week then the water should stay clean, unless your filter dosnt work.

i dont have a fillter with spunges but i no wot u mean coz ive got them in my koi pond, he has just got a pump fillter thing atm and yeah it works. the water still gets a big dirty, but then again i only need 2 clean it once a week so i dont do that bad lol but thanx alot will look into that one. xx saf xx
