A 75 Gal tank will house one full grown water dragon (ONLY ONE) for its entire life however i recommend larger to give them room to run around. Atleast 100 gal tall for climbing room and if you get a glass one PLEASE use aquarium glue and buy some good mesh then glue it to the INSIDE of the tank, this will show the dragon that he/she cant get through the glass (they think glass is hard air and tend to bash their faces against it thus causing snouth damage which leads to snout rot, respiratory infection and even death). If you plan to have more that one dragon i can tell you now it will be cheaper to build a tank than buy one. I built my tank for about 80$ and it is a 479.9 gal tank which can house 7 full grown dragons easy. Here are a couple pics of my project.

Here are two blueprints i created for those of you wanting to build your own enclosure.

Smaller design (the one i built) if you dont have a lot of room. (can hold 7 dragons if built to specs of atleast 3’6" x 3’6" x 6’4")

Larger design if you want to span the size of a wall (current project i will be starting soon once i have more space ) which can house atleast 14 dragons if built to specs of 4’6" x 6’6" x 6’6"

 Buy or build?

i used 3/4" thick PVC pipe being it was the least costly material but i warn you that you have to know how to properly retrofit the fittings (aka custom design a 90 T elbow) to create the frame. This took trial and error and a lot of drilling/dremeling the elbows. I recommend a wood frame because it is much easier to work with. Plus i had complications of when stapling the mesh to the PVC it sometimes would crack or blow a hole in the pipe so i would have to resort to a non-toxic epoxy glue to keep the mesh to the PVC.

That set up is only temporary even though it is massive and can hold 7 full grown water dragons. I plan to build either the larger enclosure i listed above or just construct greenhouse like addon to my house that is 40’ x 20’ splitting it in half with a glass or acrylic wall with a door converting it to x2 20’ by 20’ rooms. One for water dragons / tropical reptiles that will get along together (basilisks, amevias, water dragons Assie and Chinese, est.) and the other side filled with calcium sand and converted to a desert terrain for my wife and her leopard geckos (as well as beared dragons and any other type of desert reptile she would like that would of course live together without fighting). It all depends on what I have the money for at the time or have to do as for the ammount of WDs we adopt (calculating about 40 dragons i would like LOL and that will come from breeding since i have 2 females and 2 males... those girls are going to be kicking out 22 eggs per laying each or more!). I have about 1 more year before my two females will be breeding size and by then i am sure i will have the room size terrarium done with nothing but glass/acrylic but lined with screen to let them know it is not hard air this will keep them from bashing their face on the glass and will allow them to climb up the mesh however will keep the humidity and temp higher plus allow the sun light to come in and liven up the plants est. I will be creating a blueprint of the addon when the time is right ;)

I plan on building my own viv...again this time bigger.I was looking at taking an old hutch or curio cabinet and turning into one..or a fiberglass shower provided I can find one cheap and in one piece. Unfortunatly at this time only Einy will be able to move into it because Luka is much smaller then her, and much more aggressive. I wouldnt want My lil green lizard to get hurt. I would love to see your plans and blue prints though. The pictures wouldnt show for me. GD
