 Vertical or Horizontal cages??

I was thinking about making a cage about 4 feet tall, 2.5 feet long, and 2 feet wide. Will that be big enough?? Also, Im planning on standing this 4 foot cage on top of a 3 foot stand, will my WD get scared because of him being 3 to 8 feet high in the air?

Hmmm, from what I have heard other people say, your viv should be twice as long as your WD (i think), and you have to put a water area in the bottom to, so will talk up some space. Remeber they get long, 36 inch full grown male. And as for being to high, well, they are climbers, so i don’t think it’ll bother him being a little higher.

Actually they need at least 4 feet long, 2 feet tall, and the depth should be at least 18 - 24" They really do not need the height as much as length........ I have to CWD’s and the viv is 5 feet long 2 feet tall and 2 feet deep.... The height of they stand is your preference. Make it easy for you to reach in and clean it out!

Hmmm, most cages that I see on here are vertical. What if I build one that is 6 feet tall an d 3 feet all around. Then that way I could put levels made out of rocks and boards so that way it makes it look natural. The levels will keep him from killing himself if he desides to take a jump from the top.

I would suggest makinin it verticle .... i used to have, just, an fish aquaium, that is 31" long by 18" wide and 20" high ... which was lots big enough for my year old WD. But i build a "box" with sliding glass doors on the front and made it to fit the aquairum top ...

anyways, Anguis loves to climb all over the place, he is always lieing in a different spot when i check on him, ... so you proly don;t need the 6’ up, but i think you WD would like it ...

I would suggest vertical and it needs to be tall. Mine love staying in their tree. The one my husband built is like 6’2 and 3 foot all around.
