 MAJOR HELP!

hi. okay im babysitting my brother’s friends’ water dragon, and the thing is like dying on me now. lol okay when he brought him to me, i think the only thing wrong with it, was it’s tail, which today, it totally broke off, so i dont think that will grow back. so yeah its tail was broken and it was some what retarded. well now i think the thing is close to death. ive been watching him for 2 weeks now, it will hardly eat anything and its loosing a lot of weight, and has no energy or strength at all, that it can barely climb his cage. i have no clue what to do because just a few moments ago, i had it outside with me and it was acting like brand new, but then all of a sudden, all of this drool and slobber started to flow out of it’s mouth and blow bubbles. i have no clue what im doing so i dont know if thats normal or even healthy. so can someone please help me and try and tell me what to do with this think or any advice for it, because the owner is do back any day now and i dont want to hand him a dead lizzard in a shoe box. lol. thanks amanda(im logged in as my brothers name mcollins, but if you wish to contact me, please email me at i_cheer4u@yahoo.com, or talk to me on yim at, i_cheer4u.) thanks

ok do you have a UVA and UVB light, do you have a water dish that is about up to the dragons shoulders? if you dont than you need to get one ASAP. it was probaly fine outside because it was getting the proper UVA/UVB rays that it needs to live. also what are you feeding the dragon, and how much, also how much humidity do you have in the dragons enclosure, if there is very low humidity, then you need to get a apray bottle and mist the enclosure 3 times a day.

Get him to a vet ASAP!!!!!!!!! It sounds like he may have a brething problem with would cause the drooling and bubbles and that does cause death.

well okay, it has just like a regualr light, not some special thing, but i have taken him outside and his strength has come back a bit, and he does have a water dish the prper depth, and he does get sprayed, and i also put him in the tub sometimes to cool down, well i did till his owner told me not too. and his owner comes back this week, but the drooling thing was only yesterday and that was the first time it ever happend? amanda

well millie you need to get a UVA and UVB lighting in your dragons enclosure, or it will die, and if you are only using a regular light bulb, it will probaly affect your dragon in a bad way, so get a Uva/Uvb light if you dont already have one
