 Unidentified snake

Hi, this is my first time posting. I live in Lehighton, Pennsylvania (it’s about 30 miles south of the poconos). I was hiking on some trails by my house at Beltzville State Park. I was checking out the stream (which had a pretty strong current). I snake poked it’s head out from between some rock next to a rushing water fall. It appeared to be very small. It’s head was about the size of my thumb print. It ended up sticking it’s self out of the rocks about 5’’ and it’s body was very small and thin. It was about the size of a crayola marker . I couldn’t tell how long it was. It’s color was a very light brownish tan with no visiable markings. I’ve tried to ID it using the internet. I’ve ruled out the northern water snake.

thanks,
samantha
