Once again you’ve basically figured it out. This is a N.f. pictiventris. The belly is virtually always the clincher with Nerodia. The "worm like" markings are not as distinctly defined as in some specimens. However, those markings along with the dark stripe at the eye identify this snake.

With some species (much with fasciata), inter-breeding and pattern variation can cause a lot of confusion, so the best most of us can do is identify the snake based on the predominant characteristics.

For example, I have a pair of Gulf Salt Marsh(s) mixed with fasciata. They have some characteristics of a Banded but are predominantly GSM. The belly is the identifier!
