midland water snake, nonvenomous. my broad banded water snakes never bite me eccept in a feeding frenzies when they try to eat my hand when i try to seperate them lol so i guess hes safe to handle. dont feed it goldfish!!!feed it feeder fish like minnows and rosy red minnows are safe. if hes wild caught you can feed him tadpoles and frogs and toads (mine love toads) and minnows.also try a pinkie mouse every once in a while (even though they rarely eat mice). if it doesnt eat the mouse then rub the mouse on a fish to get the smell and try feeding him again. also provide a heat lamp and lots of hiding places and an oversized water bowl to swim in hence the name.
