Whats the biggest non-venomous water snake? I was just wandering.I am trying to find out for a friend..Why does it seem a little harder to find out info on water snakes then others?Maybe its just me lol...We see snakes swimming in the river all the time...I know the are not copperheads or cotton mouths..The biggest I have seen was a little bigger then a 1’ and as big around as a roll of dimes. He dosnt want to catch one and keep it,so he is also looking for a breeder of water snakes also...I guess he wants to know where to get big water snakes from off the web lol...I would appreciate all info..........thanks

Whats the biggest non-venomous water snake? In northeastern Ohio, it would be northerns. There are also copperbellies in Ohio, but not in the northeast. I forget if they’re to the south or if they’re in he northwest around Sandusky though. There’s also a subspcies of the northern, the Lake Erie Water, that lives on the islands and, althougn classified as endangered because its range is so small, is absolutely THRIVING now that the lake has all those gobies to eat, becasue they seem to be the perfect water snake food. But what you’re seeing? Are northerns.
