How long does it take for a baby snake to grow to maturity?

The snake we found is 8-12 inches long. Will it take years to grow? If it is in a small container, will it remain small? How often do they shed? Where would be a good place to take it if we don’t want to let it go outside?

that small container-small reptile thing is a stupid myth.they grow to full size in 4-9 years i think.they shed once a month if fed properly(3-5 times a week).keep it inside in a 10 gallon tank, aspen bedding,a LARGE water dish that they can fit into, some fake and live plants and moss, 2 or more hiding spots,a basking rock,a basking lamp(obviously),and some branches that overhang the water bowl.they need AT LEAST a 10 gallon tank and upgrade to a 30 gallon when they are adults.if you can not get all of these things for your banded water snake,PLEASE PUT IT BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT,NOT IN THAT TINY PLASTIC CONTAINER IN THE PIC.
