go to any wallmart or baitshop, they see little styrophone containers and a worm bedding for fishermen and people who raise worms, might be an option.

Earthworms eat leaves. Get a box throw some dirt in it and leaves on top of the dirt. Add earthworms they like it dark, the light paralyzes them. I have a mulch pit in my backyard and the earthworms thrive in it as long as i keep the ground moist. If it drys up they simple move on to greener pastures.

I should know, my dad has bred over 5000 worms. If you just want them to stay alive keep them in a 10 gallon container. Have about 5-7 inches of soil. Use a spray bottle and spray the soil daily which keeps the soil moist and humid. Have a little shredded news paper and pieces of banana and banana peels, and also Coffee grounds. Our worms love bananas.

 Earthworms

Dear Snakemaster,
Does your Dad breed worms all winter long? The reason I ask is I have collected a ton of worms from my yard and I want to keep them alive until spring. Can you give me any advice? I plan on keeping them in my cellar where it is nice and cool but I need to know what the best soil consistancy is and what to throw in the container (and how often) to feed them.

I saw worm breeders on dirtiest jobs and they used stale bread
