This is not only illigal but probably one of the worst situations that the gator could be in. There is a pretty thorough population of gators in south-east Texas. The population gets thicker the further east you go, Lousiana and Florida are almost overtaken by Amer. Alligators. American Alligators are not locale to the Ft. Worth/Dallas area, I lived there for a time, not nearly as many large bodys of water than in south-east Texas. The climate is drier up there and not fit for Gators. Just my two cents. -Reed |

Releasing that animal back into the wild would be a HORRIBLE idea. And I have never heard of an "alligator shelter" but most animal shelters won’t except gators, specially if they already have a few. Alligators are a ton of hard work and you have to be on your toes 24/7 working with them. Too much work and risks for all those old ladies working at the animal shelter.. -Reed |
