I have spoken with the owner and opperator of the huge gator sancuary in Arkansas when mine had the same problem. He said to use chicken breast with a little bit of vegetable oil. It worked great! Tator was eating that for a while before we switched to buffalo meat and other odds and ends. Tator did go off of feed for a few weeks this winter, but we were able to stimulate her appetite again with full spectrum lighting. Good luck!

goldfish are hard on the digestive system?? who ever told you that don’t know gators, in the wild they eat turtles, i feed mine goldfish minnows, some crickets, crickets are bad because of the legs and shell, but wont hurt them, they will eat every day, you are starving your gator if you feed less,
CHECK THE TEMPERATURE if to cold, about 80+ he will eat, chicken, any meat, don’t like hot dogs very messy,
the small the tank the better, my large ones will get wild again in left in a pond out side,

minnows are good and cheap, but they carry parasites so you will need to deworm every yr,

I bought a $300,000 house just for my 4 foot caiman.... I lined the whole house in rubber so there is 5 feet of water throughout the entire house.... I even cut the roof off the house and built a giant cage around the top... i put trees and ropes up there for the family of monkeys i have.... Its really cool.... I’m really busy right now doing INVENTORY so when i get a chance i’ll post some pics.....lol
