hey also... i breed stink beetles for the fun of watching them grow up lay eggs and die... so latly instead of feeding her 12cent crickets i thought i would feed her dead stink beetles. i set then on a spoon or feeed them to her by twisers and all and she eats them great (3-5 per day!) i was just wondring is she getting all she needs in her deit? also i was thinking of making her a vegetarain like me.... could she live that way??

toads/frogs cant live off of veg. their stomachs are to weak to handle them. the acids in their stomachs can break down the flesh of a bug and fish, for some reason they do not handle veg. or fruit well at all. also 3-5 beatles a day is plenty nutrishes enough so you are fine there. if she is still hungry she will eat any left over bugs that you keep in her cage for her.

also i clean her water dish like every secound day and well it s dirty the next... is that still ok so it s like left there dirty for about 1 day? or is it really unhealthy for her when she goes to drink out of it ( i t s only mud and water in the dish)

well not nesasarly bad for her, (toads in the wild jump in ponds and puddles, and they are very dirty) but i would say it is safe just to change it every other day. (my toads use there water as a bathroom, i change it every other day, just like you) so you are doing a great job!

i have a spider, cat (is prenent and going to have the kittys soon! yay!) a dog (she getting bred) 6 large american toads and 4 small baby toads (all my toads are in hibernation, i will see them soon tho! yay!)
so....what kinds of pets do you have? i am sure you have more then me.

i have 1 dog 2 rabbits 3 cats 2 fbt 1 americain toad 1 newt 25 stink beetkles(and i breed) and10-16 fish in a community tank i breed guppies and i have 2 land hermit crabs1 beta and i think thats it

if it is patted down it will seem hard, so i f i were you i would simply break up the dirt with a fork or something. (make sure you take you smommy out) once the dirt is broken up you can spred it around and what ever. since your dirt is in a cage a may pat down more then mine, but it is fix-able. so try that and make sure that the dirt is not to wet.

also i was cleaning out her water dish when i found some poop and a small rock :) i was also wondering smommy enjoys swimming and her cage (witch is the size of an old hamster cage) is to small for a large water dish so if i set in my hand as a rest place could she go for 1 minute swims in my 20 gallon fish tank..my fish are all nice and all and the won t even notice her..

hmmm. i dont know (to tell the truth) but i wouldn’t, the toxins on her skin could be harmful to your fish and they could die. but i dont know you could try and take a chance.

yeah i tryed it a few minutes ago...the fish (witch are goldfish and stuff) seem not to mind and there is a large space between both the water and the cover (not all of it is covered) also i was wondering what do u mean toxic skin..ow bad is it as bad as fbt?

o no. it’s not as bad as fbt’s, but still is toxic to animals that eat it. (there are larger (they look like worts) toxin glads behind the toads eyes they will be larger then the others that may be all over her body. the toxin is not harmful to humans but can be diedly to smaller animals (there pray).
thats why many peoples skin becomes eratated after holding a toad and not washing the hands, the toxin goes into the pours of your skin and if it sits it can cause a rash (it is very sour for a couple of days, i would know lol i was a bad little kid! lol) anyway but it is up to you, i would not but it is not my chose.
P.S. and i am so glad that you found the Rock yay! looks like you have a healthy toad!

i have a golden reteriever 2 rabbots 3 cats 2 fbt 1 americcain toad (like u wouldn t no) i breed stink beetles i breed guppies i have a community fish tank a beta to land hermot crab (may be getting more soon) and a newt.
