lol ahahaha i havent held mine in like 2 months cause he gets all pissy when my hand i in there but the odd time he will let me pick him up, wierd eh but i respect that he doesnt like being touch or handled so i leave him in peace, but my female shes a hole different story she will let me take her out as i please, she puffs when i first take her out but then shs calm as ever nice colours on her very easy going cham thats why i spoil her lol but how are the eggs doing jesse like to see some pics of them

Boothy, yeah, i finally got the temps down to 74-75, really have to finesse the whole temp thing, i found that out a couple weeks ago when i was testing the incubator out. I’m so excited to see these little buggers, and at the same time i have this dark thought in the back of my mind.......what if i can’t find good homes for only half of these guys, what the heck am i going to do with 20-30 chams, UGG.

I’m not going to worry about it for a couple months, but, the nursery cage, or their baby cage till they are 4-5 months and need to be separated, ( i hope almost all are gone by then). What sizes are you guys making these at? I was thinking of wider and deeper than tall, just because i don’t want them falling, and it’ll be easier to house larger numbers in something with more area than height, but that’s just my thought. What’s the density you are keeping the babies at too, i mean, how many per square inch or so, i don’t think all 60 of my eggs will hatch, but if i get 50, i know i won’t house all 50 babies in the same cage, that just seems too clustered.......but like i said, i’m not going to worry about it for a few months, just curious.

hey tens, good job on the incubator temp(74-75) need to keep it there for about 3 months then take it to about 76-79 that should finish them off.

yes wider would be better then height as a baby i think and like you said, you could house larger numbers but i wouldt house them all together unless its a huge terranium

and for the babies i have 37 eggs left and i have a exo tearra glass tank thats 18x18x24 and i have another cage i built in wood shop that is 2.5 feet tall and 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep and im gona have them split up into both of them so there wont be to many of them in each cage they all get there own little space of freedom iwouldnt house then per square inch thats just clustering them together in my opinion but i hoped i helped ou out some but if you need baby questions ask jonas77 shes a real smart lady and has alot of exspirence andagain good luck with your eggs man

Hey, take a look at my female...The color changes start from her color as reading to mate and then the changes of color when she has had enough of the male...I hope this helps you.

pictures are from start of mating colors to gravid stage then dark black and robin egg blue to yellow colors....she had enough of him....

Sunbursts are awesome, they have really cool colours, oh and i have a question, i heard that veileds can grow up to 2 feet, mine is smaller than a foot and it already looks like his bite can be nasty, just wait until hes fully adult.

Hey Jesse, how old is your cham? I’ve never seen a 2 foot veiled my self, but i found a fairly large one in Bozeman Montana. I was at the museum of the rockies, and they were having a reptile exhibit, with all sorts of reps, one type was the veiled cham, one male, he was about 20" i think the sign said, he was HUGE. My male, Hercules is just coming up on his 1 year Bday, and is just a smidgen over 13 inches. They sure grow fast when they are young, i was wondering when their growth rate slows down??

Yea i really heard that the maximum is 2 feet because i read it everywhere, my male is more than 10 inches and less than 13 inches so just around there, hes quite a good size right now, well hes getting close for his first year but hes not there yet, hes about 7 or 8 months old now.

I just wanted to say "good job" at breeding your chams. I also have a male (Ziggy, 3 years old) and a female (Molly, around 9 months old) I just got her today. I am thinking of breeding them but I’m still doing my research on it first. I hope to have pics to show you soon. I also wanted to thank everyone for all the great info. Hey everyone, this forum was falling down a little so i wanted to update how everything is going with my eggs, all of them are still nice and beutiful, they are all nicely white and only one has died, temperature is around 75 all the time and humdidty is great. Now they have been incubating for 59 days now so i put them in the incubator on the 22 of augest, im getting closer of hatching these egss and they are almost there!! Oh and, since its been 59 days now i heard that my female will be laying another clutch between 70 and 100 days after they laid their first clutch of eggs, is this correct info?? If so i gotta get her ready.

Glad to hear the eggs are still nice and white and that only one died. Good luck with the next drop. Am I wrong or do you need to adjust temps on the eggs a little higher in the next month or 2? hey jesse soorry i havent replyed in awile iv been working and havent had the chance to chat it up but yes you turn up the temp about 26 to 29 degrrees anywhere in there you will be fine but just to update you in 6 days it will be 6 months for my eggs being in the incubator OMG geting close iv been watching everyday but nothing yet , but i will update you guys when they hatch so ttyl all
