 New Gargoyle!

Ok, here’s some pics of my Chewies, Leachies, and my Sarasinorum. The chewies are both adult males, as far as I can tell, my Leachies will be a pair, but they are too small to breed right now, and I only have 1 male Sarasinorum.

Lol, as long as he’s eating that’s great. I got the Chewies for VERY cheap from a friend of a friend that was getting out of geckos completely. Male chewies usually run between 200-400, same with babies. Females are VERY expensive. Females usually run from 500-900, usually in the 600-700 range.

Uhhhhh, That’s too rich for my blood.

In march there is a expo coming up and I might get a female gargoyle or I might get a pair of pygmy chams. That is if i am able to make it to the expo.

Just remember, you are going to need a seperate cage for the other gargoyle for a couple of months even if it is the right size to breed, and make sure you don’t put the female in with the male if she’s too small to breed. You want to keep them seperated for a couple of months on quarantine to make sure she doesn’t have anything wrong with her that could endanger your other guy. Then you want to make sure she is around 40 grams before you even think about breeding her or lots of things could go wrong.

Lol, just 2? I’m sure he did eat them quick. It’s actually good to give Gargoyles crickets, they are actually supposed to have some extra protien. Give it like 6-10 at a time once or twice a week.

Well today i tried some DGD and He didn’t want any, So if he comes closer to the front of the cage, I may try feeding him again.

Ya know what, since you are feeding him DGD, maybe you should add just a VERY small amount of some fruit baby food or pureed fruit, I suggest mango, to the diet. Just get the CGD as soon as you can, and when you do, get rid of the baby food.

I do have some power nectar stuff i got from the breeder i got the garg from, I could add that instead of the baby food or puree? But i think I’ll just put some puree in the DGD if i don’t put the nectar in it.

And don’t worry, I’ll get the CGD as soon as i can.

The repashy nectar stuff? Yeah, that would definitely be better than adding the puree.

No i don’t think that is it. I really don’t know what it’s called, But the breeders i got him from put it in a lot of their cresties and gargs food. I’ll email them and Ask them what it is called.

He’s going to love the crickets, you just want to be careful not to feed him too many crickets. You want to be sure he is getting the diet because these animals are omnivores, they need more than just insects to stay healthy.

Okay, I haven’t tried hand feeding in a few days and I put some plastic bags around the cage to make him feel more safe. But i tried today with a wood popsicle stick and I was able to get him to eat some. But not too much, So he is probably eating some of it, That i have in spoons around the cage.
