what i do is take freash chopped collard greens or whatever i have on hand and put it on the bottom and then put chopped fruits and veggies on top. my iguana loves collard greens and if i let him thats all he would and nothing else.

mustard greens, collard greens, with a little bit of kale all shredded up, then i throw some shredded up zucinni and squash on top for good measure....the little green guy seems to love it!

My Iggy doesn’t like fruit either. I always leave some around but he never touches them, but when it comes time to eat he eats everything else...Its strange, when I first got him he loved fruit, then he stopped eating them.

Has anyone read James Patterson’ book "the Ultimate Iguana Manual"? It’s composed of his own experience, research, and a huge questionare that he sent out to hundreds of iggy owners and vets over the country. I found it to be quite helpful . . . anywho, he mentions that every now and then (1-5%) you can throw in some black beans for the additional veggie protien. . . I threw a handful in the food processor, added some squash, alfalfa, calcium, and arugula, then mixed the nasty looking mush with chopped up collards . . . OMG!! Sweetheart dove face first into the mixture and ate until her belly was rounded (well more than it normally is lol)! She really enjoyed it as a healthy treat, just to pass it on!
