Im fourteen, turning fiteen in july I am young but have lots of previous experience with reptiles. Iggies-will have one by the end of the month Bearded dragon- I have to male, NOVA, female, ADHARA Dogs-staffordshire terrier, ALI, like the boxer, American pitbull, KARMA, and a german sheperd, STORM.  I also have 3 half sisters, 2 almost 3 sister in-laws, 4 half brothers, and 1 brother in law. I love to read, spend time with animals, watch movies, and hang out with friends and family. I also make jewelry, knit scarves, scrapbook vacations and any other crafts. When I’m older I want to go to college to become a Zoologist and own a specialty exotic and reptile pet store! We also go on a lot of vacations, not so much now that my brother is being a party pooper. We went on a cruise to the caribbean this past November, That was so awesome! and this summer we are going out west to Arizona, Collarado, New Mexico, California, and Utah for a whold month, I will miss all of my babies terribly. My family and I own a lot of animals, I take care of all the reptiles. 
2 male bearded dragons: ares and Athena? I need a new name for athena because when I 1st got him I was told he was a she. 1 male mali uromastyx: Zeus my first lizard ever! 2 leopard geckos: male- leo usexed baby- no name 1 male MHD: Draco 1 female collared lizard: Holly 1 male green iguana: Zelda About 15 goats, nubians, pygmies, nigerians, llamanchas, and more on the way, I’m not going to name them all :) 7 miniture horses: Daisy F, Apache M, Tonto M, Star F, Belle F, Autumn F, and April F 5 chickens: two males and 3 females 4 llamas: Nifty M, Dhalli F, Carlos M, Bob M (all the males are neutured so they won’t fight.) 1 male Zebra Finch: no name 1 male Cockatiel: Billy 9 cats: Tigger M, Tiger F, Smokey F, Bo M, Serenity F, Patches F, Meg F, Jack M, Plucy F, (again all of the males are fixed.) 2 dogs: Happy, pitbull mutt M, Duke Great Dane M 1 sheep: Penny F I hope to get a couple crested geckos soon I have owned so many animals in my life, lots more cats, chickens, ducks, llamas, rabbits, sheep, goats, throughbred horses, dogs, ferrets, hedgehog, lots and lots of fish, and probably more animals that have passed away :( |

Im Karlie and i am 23 yrs old! im from British Columbia Canada, I am married to an fablous man who supports me with my animals and puts up with my Nusiance!! Joey! I got into reptiles about three years ago by rescuing an female 5 foot iguana named Lola, who i found down the street in a cage in the middle of a snow storm and i basically stole her from the other owners, she had no heat lights or anything and was barley alive when we took her. SHe was mean as heck and we could never hold her.. only pet her and we had her for 9 months then she passed away enjoying her basking and yummy food and lots of love in her last months of her life. RIP Lola. That fueled my additction and made me crave the need to help all of those reptiles who are abused out there or neglected which opened the path to my reptile rescue, Not every reptile comes to us neglected or abused, Some people just couldnt have them anymore due to moving, children etc.. I got my beautiful big boy Caper off a member here on RZ and thank him every day for the joy caper brings to my life, he is the mascot of my rescue, when you walk into my house you are welcomed by caper who roams around the house looking for treats and warm places to hide.. I got Grissom off RZ as well from a girl who realized she was in over her head with Grissom and did not feel like she was providing enough love and care for Grissom who came to me mean as heck and wanted nothing to do with humans, this member tried her best with him, she rescued him herself, she decided to contact me and see if i would work with grissom, now he enjoys being held and enjoys being petted but has his off days. I bought Konas from pet store as a wee juvie he was the size of my pinkie finger, shortly after lola passed away not to replace lola but to survive her memory. He is now an happy three year old. Baby i got from this wonderful woman who rescued her from another owner, she had been passed on to 9 owners in her short 5 years and had bad mbd which this woman took to the vet and had treated but she had two small kids and baby is not the nicest girl around. she has a lot of head issues and cannot understand why i am so nice to her, she lashes out a lot and i have just come to terms that she will never be friendly.. i only handle her when she is in a good mood and wants to be handled.. otherwise i get whipped, bitten. Prince came to me from the gulf islands which is a long ways away! His owners loved him so much he was their baby, he slept with them on their bed, ate with them at the table, never had a cage, etc.. then the couple broke up and couldnt decide who would get prince so decided to cut him in half with an chainsaw.. a neighbour saw the man carrying prince into the shed.. thought that was weird, then heard a chainsaw go on and heard prince scream an gruelling scream and this neighbour phoned the police and ran over and kicked the door in and prince was attacking the owner and trying to get away.. his tail did get cut off tho. this neighbour took prince in and treated him with his wounds but prince is five foot long ( with only half of his tail) and he weights about 15 pounds.. he is a big boy.. so he contacted me to take prince in as he said he knew nothing about iguanas. Prince is a big joy in our lives he is so sweet and good natured, only now he hates being picked up which is understandable.. but he will come to you and climb onto you.. i ve had many joyful hours watching tv and sleeping on the couch with prince! Izzabelle is our newest addition- she was an class room pet for 10 years, then she retired from the classroom and went to live with a woman who unforuntely died and izzabelle was left in her cage alone for a week before she was found and she was badly burned from the lightblub which was exposed in her cage, she is going through treatment right now.. and who could forget Kalai, my troublesome boy, who keeps me on my toes and keeps the vet well paid! he loves the bearded dragons always gets into their cage, managed to somehow slice his head open and required 20 sitches and $1200 to fix and an operation!.. He came from someone off craigslist who picked him up by the tail and had this 4 foot boy in an 55 gallon tank.. he is much happier here and enjoys his treats and is one of my top favorites!!! we also have had many other iguanas that have come in and have not been able to be saved, RIP Dante, Kelso, Jellybean, Ginger, Jezebel, Izzy, Shiloh, Bulleye, Jorge, Georgia, Liam, Kelly, Humbug, Quincy, Cheeves, Azzie, Phryus, Riley, Boots, Noel, Jasper, Leland, Buffy As hard as i work and as hard as i love and as hard as i try i cannot save all of them and i truly wish i could from the bottom of my heart! But at least i know they know they were loved when they passed away, most of them passed away in my arms close to my heart i always made sure i was there if i could tell they were getting close and spent the last hours of their lives holding them and telling them how good they were and how much they were loved. we also have 3 cats 3 dogs 7 ferrets an snapping turtle 10 red ear sliders 8 bearded dragons 4 lepoard geckos 2 tokay geckos 1 golden tegu 1 savannah montior 1 caiman 2 budgies 20 finches 4 lovebirds 2 water dragons 8 chinicallas 1 ring tailed lemur 8 bunnies 5 guinea pigs 2 potbellied pigs 1 lamb 6 goats 4 horses 1 dumpty tree frog 1 burmese phyton 1 rose trantula 1 chumpuk many many breeders of mouses and rats 2 degu’s i always forget someone too! haha, my zoo is busy and keeps me on my toes and on top of that i work two fulltime jobs! heres a picture of me and my husband on our wedding day 07/07/07

Ron & I live on a 50 acre farm and have 5 horses, 4 beagles, one mixed lab, 2 spoiled rotten cats, Moe & Curly (Larry disappeared) and my baby Emma, a 13 year old green iguana. We used to have lots of chickens and ducks, but the coyote population is exploding here and we now only have one lone chicken. My husband is not as taken as I am with my Emma, so when she gets off her table, I have to call out "Lizard Walking"! Once, when our electric went off and we had little heat and it was winter, I took Emma to bed with me to keep her warm. She did fine, snuggling and such, but then my husband threw his arm over me, touched Emma, screamed and jumped out of bed!!! He took his pillow and blankie and slept in the living room. He will never let me live that one down! I have come on this forum every day since I found it. And I will continue to as it is a lot of fun to talk to people with a passion for reptiles as I do. I am new to this site just signed up for it today :) I love it! gives great info. I have only had my Iggy since March, 28 of this year (2008) I don’t know anything about my Iggy on how old she is or anything like that the pet store didn’t know anything about her either.. Shes very loving and loves to cuddle with me. When I first got her I though she was a male but she matured a little more and now i can tell and I’m believing that my Iggy is a female. :MY ANIMALS: 1 Cat *Baxter* 3 Fish Guppies *tiny,pink,and Bertha* 1 Iguana *Geronimo* So yeah that’s it about me for now :)

Hiiii! I’m Stacy, and I’ll be 15 in a few months lol. I got my first reptile, Squeegy the crested gecko last year in April and I have sooo many herps now. I volunteer at the local vet office...mostly cleaning up after animals (yuck) but it’s still fun when we’re finished with the work; but then again exercising dogs isn’t work for me, it’s fun!
Many people say I’m too young to work with these animals but I’ve done my research on all their requirements and know a lot more than some older people (wow that must’ve been embarassing for that Petco manager...but that’s another story  ) I’m into gardening, ponding, and of course, herping...designing tanks for my reptiles etc.
Right now I’m only breeding the crested geckos (sold 2 babies already!) but am gonna start with the bp’s after a few more snakes!!
