ok, well im going to assume that most of these food items are accepeted by savannahs to, and i would love to give my monitor a varied diet, what i was wondering is, the most readily available "and cheapest" things for me to get ahold of are snails, frogs, and fish, does anyone know what species is best, (especially snails since african giant snails are illegal in the US) i would like to breed them so i can have a more steady food supply, since i cant breed rats.. because i hate them. and i dont have time or space to breed chicks, and dont even know where to buy them way out in suburbia. Also has anyone ever tried feeding squirrel? sounded lilke a good idea to me, i was planning on catching it then boiling the body before feeding...

Just a quick question...
What woud be the largest cockaroach that I should freed to my 30" Red Ackie? I don’t want to feed Him & Her Food that might be to large for them. Any advice on other good species?

I have B. Dubia and Lobsters currently.

I would say its safe to give him w/e he’s willing to take on...when ever mine grabs a bug thats a little large for him he just mashes it on a rock till he can swallow it.

Anyone have any experiance with Blata lateralis? I have been looking for something that dosn’t climb the interior of my enclosure as well as the lobsters. Any suggestions? I am new to keeping monitors and have just aquired a 2year old pair from someone I know and was just checking to see if I should feed as many as they will eat in 10 min. or set a number per animal, and how many days to feed Some say every day while others will also say every other day. I just want to provide my pair with the best diet as well as keep them healthy.

I live In Southern Canada anyone know if Giant African Snails are illegal here? ANd if anyone could message me about any Feeder stores here i would appreciate it because $5 per mouse is hittin my wallet hard... Especially when im trying to build a new cage. Thx
