it’s a good sign for sure Before they would fight at the first sight of each other but now they can walk by Funny thing is they usually stay with each other in a hide too. We’ll see if yours continue to share the same hide as mine are doing |

Where he is slightly bigger and looked abit bigger than the day before i thought she was gone for sure as i thought they were both under the same hide, they were standing ontop of eachother, i thought they were still there, looked under could only see one, lifted it up, was only one there, lifted the other half log up, she wasnt there either, i thought he had gobled her for sure, until i lifted the half log all the way up to find this: http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/scorpion-newbie/DSC00263.jpg You can see shes actually buryed under one of the arms of the half log like i said, very sneakily. Damn, your emps eat all of the locust? that’s pretty impressive for those little guys Btw, what are the bark chips for? They’re very bad at holding humidity and are not recommended. But I guess it wouldn’t do a lot of harm if they’re at the bottom of the tank. Why are you chucking all of the substrate? Is there any way to reuse it and mix w/ the new coco fiber? I think the locusts are just short lived creatures, hard to create an environment for them. I don’t know how to take care of them either, but I think keeping them in a tall container w/ long tree branches does them good. Gives them climbing room since they seem to love to do that. Sweet, lookin forward to that pic :D |

I really like the natural look too, I replaced my pot w/ a coconut hut I made. But so far none of them are hiding in it. At least the coconut was good lol That’s a pretty sick picture, they seem to be getting along really well. They’ll make babies in no time haha |

But yeah was thinking of a small sand species like desert hairy, but i remember you saying to never get one when there young cause of molting problems or something? Really i would like something quite very young i would think so i can experience watching one grow up from a very early age, even though my emps are about a year old they are already about as big as most scorpions types can get from what i gather lol. Any recommendations for next type? small sand species? Death stalker? Lol |

haha considering other species...you could do another communal setup. A lot of the smaller species that are very active are B. jacksoni and C. sculpt. These are about 2.5-3 inches max I am guessing...they mate pretty easily too Dunno how you can get babies though, but heard they’re awesome. They’re also the more common ones, so it’s easier to find these and cheaper too and yes, the desert hairy scorp has a very bad molting problem in captivity. People have tried to raise the young in captivity and almost always have failed due to the molting. It’s just very hard to mimic their environments. |

Ya, if you’re just looking for one to fit in a large kritter keeper (like ur locust tank) an adult desert hairy is perfectly fine. You should go to this: http://www.shopspiderpharm.com/servlet/Detail?no=393 If you happen to live in the US and near Arizona, it’ll only cost you 16 bucks for an adult Desert Hairy this was where I got mine and it’s a pretty damn cheap price too. It’s still alive today and healthy. |

what pets do you have now? I don’t think I can handle pets that large though, but the water dragon sounds sweet. I like scorpions cuz they don’t take up much room at all, require very little care and are exotic at the same time lol Yeah, I’ve considered tarantulas too, but I don’t think my gf would like them lol Scorpions was one thing, but tarantulas are creepy |

And just the scorpions, my budgiee died not too long ago, not sure how or why, supposed to live 12 years or so, mine lasted about 1 and half :S. But im deffinatly deciding on getting a boa now, they are so friendly and the one i have seen loves being handled, as is what is said about all of them lol, hes about 6 foot long, but i think he might of been sold :( but no matter im sure i can get one still, gonna have to re-arrange my room abit, might have to get a sturdy massive shelf to put scorpions on to have room, and yeah the water dragons they have are really nice. But i want a boa lol, but is gonna take a serious chunk out of room that i dont have, but im willing to make that sacrifice lol. |

I don’t think I can handle a boa, they’re way too big for me. I like the small and compact pets lol. Scorpions are fine for me right now, I might move to keeping a lizard. Used to keep blue bellied lizards (bunch of them where I live, easy to catch too) and it was awesome seeing them chase down crickets, smash them around, and swallow them whole :D |

He opened the lid, chucked a locust in, she didnt even think about it just fangs straight in, then he chucked another one in, fangs straight in that one, was just sitting there eating 2 massive locusts lol. She looks wicked though! completly black with white stripes over her legs, black white ornate tarantula or something its called, ill get a pic when i get tommorow lol. |

Well its a T so no heat mat, room temperature so no problems, she will get fairly big, about 7-8 inches so i hear, only thing i didn’t know when i got her is, shes a hair flicker, so gotta watch out for that! But nah m an easy i reckon, all i gotta do is feed it and make sure it has water and abit of humidity, appart from that rest is up to her! But apperently shes quite a rare species at the moment, thats why it cost me a fairbit for her, but i don’t mind, is gonna be an intresting experience lol |
