well since your young and have a iggy your fine. if you have money then go get a snake. and to have a snake and an iggy is alot of work and alot of money. i have 3 snakes and an iggy and sum other reps and i spend alot of money on food. the iggy is going to get really expensive when you have to build a cage for it and to get a snake you need at least 150$ for a okay set up for you snake. because your goin to need heat lamps, pads, food, and light bulbs. having pets isnt cheep, and when your iggy has to go to the vet ( it eventualy will) your going to pay at least 100$ just for the vet to even look at it. my advice is just to stick with your iggy for now and then when you get the okay from your mom and a good amount of cash go get a snake but make sure a freind will take the snake if you cant take care of it anymore.

I can not believe the disrespect for parents, some of you have. Do you know the sacrifices that they make to get the things you want? Even with out the money factor, what about trust. If my kid brought an animal home after I said no, first, you would loose computer privileges for a long time, be grounded for some time, and I would drive you to the pet store and make you take the snake back with me standing right beside you. If you treat your parents with no respect and honesty, why should they treat you that way.
Earn their trust and respect and you will get a lot more out of life. You might even get that snake you want.
If you are old enough to have animals, then act your age and get one the right way.
FIRST: Grow up...
THEN: get a snake.
Once you gain your parents respect, you will be surprised at the help (from people backing you and helping you out as much as they can) to get your snake.
Please, go about it the mature way. If you take care of the iggy like you said, you are responsible enough to have a snake, but get it the right way.

Well one thing I would do is not trick ur mom you need to get her on a good day and ask her after you have show how good you take care of your pets. I had to do the same thing with my dad. But definetly do your research first like first choose the kind of snake you want then do as much studying on that breed as much as you can. Then figure out your figures ( how much this is going to cost you, sufficient care needed, do you have time for this pet, and If this is the pet for you). After you’ve done all that Then I would sit down with your mom and let her know how much you know about this snake you wnat to get and maybe just maybe It might work out for you. It worked for me and my dad loves the snake I cant get him away from him. LoL

you dont trick them. in fact, its near impossible. thats simply because even if you have the best reasons, take amazing care of your pets and get straight A’s, it all comes down to what your parents want. If they are stubborn, its really hard to budge them on it. Usually, they’ll yell at you for bothering them, not get you one if you just nag them. My mom, however, is letting me get a BP if i get a nice report card. Also, even if you can’t get one, you have an iguana. Enjoy your iguana.

Some of the stuff ive read on here cracks me up... I am 17 and have 5 leos, 1 iguana, 3 frogs and 2 dogs (plus various fish)... now my parents hate each and every one of my pets if it were up to them i would be petless... but you know how i got them, i worked my tail off and because i got good grades for my first 2 years in highschool (yeah thats right TWO) i got ONE leopard gecko... ONE!!! lol... its alot of hard work convincing your parents you deserve to have pets... They got me a dog because i worked so hard and GRADUATED EARLY! in order to get the rest i had to move out... now i realize that most 17 year olds cant move out but you can still do things like i did, make them a deal.. if i get all A’s for 1 semesters or 2 semesters can i get a snake/leo/dog or whatever you want to get... make a deal... thats what i had to do... except in my case i had to tell my parents NOT to get me things.. like my mom wanted to get me an iguana instead of a leopard gecko... but i looked into them and i didnt feel right at 16 costing my parents that much money... so i told her i was going to wait til i could pay for him myself and boy did she thank me for that later :p .... so what i think you guys should do is not bring up the pet at all... be extra nice and respectful, do your chores as well as some that arent on your list of to dos... get your homework done and turned in... if your old enough get a job... if your not you really IMO dont need to be trying to get more pets... than your parents will let you... when i was in high school i dont think i could have handled the number of pets i have... and frankly working 60hrs a week i still dont but i have roommates taht help me with that.... I have barely enough time when i get home to feed everyone and handle my ig. cause god knows if you dont handle them every day (i try for twice) they will be come mean little suckers... and at 6ft long will always get their way... O.o lol but thats just my two cents

You shouldn’t trick them. Try to convince them and make sure you know what you are getting into because there are too many people who just ignore the care needed for a pet and buy it on an impulse. Impulse buying is not o.k. with pets. Be responsible and think it through.

LOL you guys are in public school so you cant get animals that need a lot of attention. im home schooled so im always home which really sucks! you may think ive got it easy but try workeing through the summer!. i work year round on my school work! i hate not being in public school right now because when i go to college im going to be out of place and uptight its gonna suck. and i wont have natural interaction skills like most people because im not talking to any1!. so next time when you think how much it sucks to go to school just think of having to stay at your house all day! im going crazey. on the bright side (for me not you) i can have a black tree monitor and a tiger snake! LOL
P.S i realy got to get a GF.
