 For Mr. Quarles

Is the moroccan really iridescent? It looks like it in the pic.... Thanks for answering the questions... more to come if that is cool.... Does gaboon in the can really have a purple color... it looks like it in the photo. i have never seen a more beautiful pattern on a snake... do happen to know the purpose is for that pattern? Is there one?

It just means it is a healthy cobra. When most cobras are healthy their scales apear to have an almost glossy look to them.

Very pretty Jeff...and thanks a lot for posting!!! Been kinda busy, so I just now saw the pics. Thanks again though! Is she mellow or is she usually trying to kill you? I mean shes hooded but she doesn’t appear to be too pissed at you...

And good lord sinister, that is a monstrous gabby! And your buddy is nuts man...I think gabbys and rhinos are the snakes that worry me the most. Its a fang thing...just seeing the size of the fangs in a gabby that size scares the hell outta me lol... That is one crazy dude...I like his ink though...Looks like he could shoot you or chase you down with a deadly snake and not feel the least bit bad about it lol...I don’t mean to stereo type I have ink all over too...but youve gotta be one crazy SOB to have ink all over your face and a 40 pound gabby in your hands...but I have a buddy with tats all over his head and face and hes one of the nicest most down to earth people I’ve every met..

Munky

Just a couple feeding pics from Saturday...She always keeps her mouse or rat on top of her hide where theres no substrate and she just had to yank it down into the bark...so the whole time she was eating I was picking chucks of wood off the rat...so no I didn’t let her eat them

Hah no worrys on the stereotyping. I have alot of ink and i consider myself a pretty laid back easy going guy but youve pretty much hit the nail on the head with my buddy. Hes a tattoo artist and he does all my ink which kind of explains why he has tattoos every where.

That is a cool little monocled. Monocleds are one of my favorit cobra species but ive only ever kept monocled cobra morphs. Ive never kept a normal phase lol. Right now i think i have a grand total of 6 monocleds and 10 cobras all together. I wasent really too into them when i first got into hots but needless to say they really grew on me. My first cobra was that albino on page one of this thread that i bought as a baby. They sure grow fast!

Yeah shes my first elapid period. Or hot...I took her in on a rescue..and shes a venomoid by the way...not by my choice...like I said I took her in on a rescue. But I have to say, she wont be my last. They are so intelligent and inquisitive. Its impossible not to love and respect them. There is just something majestic about them. The whole time I’ve been learning her shes been learning me. Amazing animals.

I loved all the pics on this thread! I am not experianced with hots but I love to see pics of them from owners and in the wild. I am searching for pics of a Formosa {spelled?} cobra. I have seen them on google but I cant find any one who owns one? I think they are beautiful {I like all the cobras..my fav snake}
And that huge gaboon was awesome. The baby was adorable too.

And does any one here have a King cobra? {thats a pic request from my 9yr old son lol}

I wish i had the pictures too prove it, but i had his 16.5ft king out and i was playin’ with him. and his rinkhals, but the forest was waaaay too pissy to come out and play, he hooded up at the sight of me.
